Top Left: Select a pattern for the background. Create a picture which is then cut out of the positive parts of the pattern. The positive pieces are glued to the page.
Centre and Right: Select a theme. Draw shapes so they overlap and create new shapes. Use only one colour. Begin colouring in one shape. Apply the colour so they meet only tip to tip, such as on a checker-board. Two shapes of the same colour should not meet side by side.

Draw a cardboard template of an object. Begin tracing the object on paper. Repeat the shape many times, overlapping it as you go, to create a sense of movement in the picture.
